Privacy & cookies

Who we are
TheByteNook (“we”) is an independent publisher based in the United Kingdom, operating the website thebytenook.co.uk. For anything on this page, write to hello@thebytenook.co.uk.
What we collect
- Email address — only if you choose to subscribe to the free downloads. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- Basic technical data — such as the pages you visit, kept in aggregate to understand what is useful.
We do not ask for, and do not want, any other personal data. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Advertising links and cookies
Some outbound links on this site are advertisements: they are affiliate links, and they are labelled (Ad) where they appear. If you click one and then sign up or buy, the destination company may set a cookie so the referral can be credited to us. That company then acts as its own data controller for anything you do on its site, under its own privacy policy. Referral cookies exist to attribute a referral; they do not identify you to us.
How long we keep it
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregate technical data is kept for as long as it is useful for understanding the site.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these, contact us and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) atico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
